The Deltec TS range of protein skimmers are designed to be placed directly in the aquarium sump.
There is a chamber where you can place a phosphate remover (Deltec Aqua Crown is the recomended choice) or carbon.
The water is spun as it exits the pump unit allowing a high contact time.
